Plan 01

Body contouring, built as a course rather than one appointment

Ultrasonic cavitation to break stubborn fat down, radiofrequency to tighten the skin over it, wood therapy to smooth what is left. Two hours at 10306 Eaton Place in Fairfax, no surgery, no downtime.

Chapter 01

What cavitation actually does to a fat cell

Ultrasonic cavitation works on sound wave energy, not heat or suction. The waves stress the wall of a fat cell until it breaks apart, and what used to be stored fat becomes free fatty acids and glycerol moving loose in the tissue around it.

That is the point most people stop the explanation, and it is also the point where the real work is only half done. Loose fat in the tissue has to be picked up by the lymphatic system and carried out through the body's normal channels. If that system is sluggish, the released fat sits there longer than it should, which is why a body contouring appointment at Summa Med Spa is never just the cavitation pass on its own. It is why hydration and movement afterward are not throwaway advice, they are the second half of the treatment doing its job.

It also explains the timeline honestly. The breakdown happens in the room, in Fairfax, that same afternoon. The result you actually see in the mirror shows up over the days after, as your own body finishes clearing what the ultrasound loosened.

Radiofrequency versus wood therapy: two different problems

Radiofrequency skin tightening and wood therapy solve different complaints, and mixing them up is the fastest way to waste a session. Radiofrequency heats the deeper layer of skin to stimulate collagen production, which is what firms and tightens skin that has gone loose or started to sag. It is the right call when the skin itself is the issue, not just what is underneath it.

Wood therapy is a manual, natural sculpting massage done with wooden tools, and it works on a different layer. It improves circulation and helps smooth cellulite, the dimpled texture that comes from how fat sits against connective tissue near the surface. If loose skin is the complaint, wood therapy alone will not fix it. If cellulite texture is the complaint, radiofrequency alone will not fix that either. Most plans built in this room use both in the same two-hour session because most bodies present both at once.

Chapter 03

The two-hour shape, and the one mistake that undoes it

A full body contouring session runs about two hours: cavitation over the target area, radiofrequency where skin needs tightening, wood therapy to work circulation and cellulite, and a red light therapy add-on when the skin needs the extra help with rejuvenation and cellular repair. Nothing here is surgical and nothing here asks for downtime. You leave the same way you arrived.

The failure mode is not the treatment itself, it is the expectation set around it. One session is one session. The fat cells broken down in that appointment are handled by the body over the following days, and the tightening from radiofrequency depends on collagen that takes weeks to build, not hours. Coming in once and judging the whole approach off that single visit skips the part where a course of sessions is what actually reduces stubborn fat areas, tightens and tones the skin, and smooths cellulite and contours your curves. Booking is by appointment, Monday through Saturday, Saturdays for body contouring specifically running 9am to 4pm.
